Ground is being broken this month on Pasco County Public Transportation’s New Bus Wash and Refueling Station. Lunz Prebor Fowler was commissioned to design the new station consisting of a bus yard expansion and the design of three buildings for bus washing, fare deposit and refueling. The project employs environmentally responsible and efficient techniques in attempts to streamline the Pasco County Public Bus System. The first building, the Bus Wash Building, houses an automated bus wash and water recycling system. The building also includes a small storage area and fuel equipment room. Adjacent to the Bus Wash Building is the Count Room, for the daily deposit of collected bus fares into a vault. An aluminum canopy extends from the building to provide for covered and convenient drop off. The third building is a fuel canopy and fuel system designed to protect fuel dispensers and employees from the elements. The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Public Transportation New Bus Wash and Refueling Station will take place on Tuesday May 25th 2010. The Wash and Refueling Station is in Port Richey at 8620 Galen Wilson Boulevard.
